Sermon Series: Revelation
Hey Folks,
Happy New Year’s Eve! Who’s excited that 2020 is almost over? Whether you’re going to shoot fireworks somewhere or go to sleep at 9pm, I hope you end this year with gratitude and begin the next with joyful anticipation. Some of you are thinking that you’re going to party so much you want to skip church on Sunday. Folks, that is a bad idea. Why? Because we’re going to be talking about Revelation, that’s why.
Yep. The scary book at the end of the Bible. The weird one. The one that Methodists don’t talk about. We’re diving in headfirst this Sunday, and we’re going to hear what the Spirit has to say to the Church.
Why? Well, first of all—it’s 2021, so who really knows what’s going to happen? Second of all, Revelation is a powerful and beautiful book. Really. This book has been a source of hope and sustenance for Christian communities for centuries. In some historical Christian communities, it has been the most quoted and memorized book of scripture.
So we’re going to conquer our fear, and start 2021 off by exploring the ancient, powerful, enigmatic book. Join us online, on the lawn, or in the sanctuary.
