What would Jesus do if he were living in Houston today? What would he do about refugees? Homelessness? The foster care system?
During Lent, Westminster will be focusing on the Gospel of Luke. One of the major themes of that Gospel is Christian concern for the poor. Of course, everyone likes the idea of helping, but what does that actually mean? What can we actually do, and how can we do it without unintentionally making things worse?
Our Wednesday night series will help us as individuals and a church answer those questions. We’ll be educated on the data surrounding some of our city’s most pertinent issues, inspired by examples of what some communities of faith have done in response, and motivated to serve Jesus by serving “the least of these” in a tangible way. We promise you will learn, grow, and be challenged by each of the speakers in this series.
To help cover the cost of meals, $5 suggested donation for each session, $15 suggested donation for the final session

April 5: Holy Week Experience.
We will end our Lenten series with a Holy Week experience. We’ll gather at tables for a special gastrochurch experience to explore what we’ve learned about Christ in the series. The dinner will immediately segue into our Holy Week service in which we’ll share Communion, read the story of Christ’s crucifixion, and contemplate what it means to encounter the suffering Christ today.
