Heaven on Earth: Why We Worship
Have you ever wondered why we do what we do on Sundays? Christians have always gathered together for worship, and yet often we don’t understand what we’re doing. Why do we sing together? Why do we do have a snack on Communion Sundays? What about things like the Apostle’s Creed or the Doxology?
In truth, every part of our worship service is intentional. Christian worship, whether traditional, contemporary, or something else, has included the same basic elements for two thousand years. In this series, we’re going to explore the history and theology behind what we do in worship so that we can better appreciate and experience it.
Throughout the series, there will be two special events to help explore worship more fully. First, we’re having a special gastrochurch focused on Communion on April 12 (scan the QR code below to register). Then, in the evening of May 5, we will host a special worship service led by the Center for Christian Spirituality.
See more info below about all the topics, and join us starting April 7.
