Gustavo Andres, Organist
Gustavo is originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina. He began his piano training at the age of 6 and subsequently his organ studies at the “Conservatorio Nacional” of Buenos Aires with Professor Luis Caparra. Before coming to the United States, he was the Organist for the Basilica of “Sagrado Corazón” and “Nuestra señora del Pilar” in Buenos Aires. He has taken master classes with Key Koito, Daniel Roth, Peter Planyavsky, Martin Haselböck, Paul Jacobs and Michael Radulescu. He has performed recitals as a soloist and accompanist in Argentina, Bolivia, Germany, France, Italy, Slovenia and the United States.
He graduated from Western Connecticut State University, Danbury, Connecticut, where he studied with Stephen Roberts. He completed his Master’s degree in organ performance and Performer Diploma at Indiana University under the guidance of Dr. Christopher Young. Before coming to Houston, he served as Organist and Music Director at Galilee Episcopal Church in Virginia Beach for almost a decade and is now Assistant Music Director at St Theresa Catholic Church, in Sugar Land.
