Sermon Series: Galatians
Galatians is one of the most oft-cited books of the New Testament. It was the scriptural impetus behind the Protestant Reformation, and has been the theological justification for many a liberation movement since. Galatians explores themes of identity, freedom, law, legalism, and Spirit-led behavior, all through the fiery rhetoric of a seriously annoyed Paul. (Fun fact: this is the book in which Paul makes the not-so-nice comment that his opponents should castrate themselves. No seriously. Look it up.) For all his fire, though, Paul takes us into some deep theological territory in this book, territory that leaves none of us unchanged. This series explores the big themes of the book and how they intersect with our lives today.
