Faith in Action (Adults 20+):
Faith in Action is a discussion based class that studies the Bible from a 360 degree approach that incorporates scripture, history, and geography to better understand the message then and today. The group is currently doing an exciting 4-month Study of Celebration of Discipline, a book by Richard Foster. It’s one of the contemporary Christian classics. In it, the class is discussing the twelve (12) inward, outward and corporate disciplines necessary for living a faith-filled life. We’d love to have others join us in this multiple-week discussion. Meets in the Parlor Annex and is led by Charles Caldwell and Kevin Koecher.
The Faith Seekers:
A newly formed class who meet in the Parlor Dining Room. The class is beginning a study by Phillip Yancy, called The Jesus I never knew. Throughout the six sessions, Yancy uses film portraits of Jesus and contrasts them with Jesus of the Bible. All are welcome.
Book: Making Sense of the Bible by Adam Hamilton
This class is starting a new study this Sunday called Making Sense of the BIble by Adam Hamilton. Everyone is welcome. The author discusses foundational issues regarding the development of the Bible, including what books were included and why - as well as how believers might treat troubling passages in scripture. The Faithweavers class is a dynamic group that meet each Sunday in room A-109.
Begins with singing of hymns, followed by a study. This special group is comprised of young-at-heart senior adults and was one of the first Sunday school classes ever formed at WUMC! (A-108)
A women's class who study and serve together throughout Westminster. Come join us in the office conference room as we study Rick Warren's, The 40 Days of Community. By unpacking the biblical support for each of the five purposes (fellowship, spiritual growth, service, worship and sharing the Good News), you'll learn the ways it applies to you and your circle of influence, and how you can use this knowledge to benefit God's kingdom.
Sunday School (Sunday Mornings 10:15 a.m.)
Children: We have wonderful, loving leaders each week to lead our children on an age-appropriate faith journey filled with fun and action. (Nursery-2nd Grade, Nursery/Children's Wing, first floor Main Bldg). See more information about Children's Sunday School here.
Middlers: Bible study, worship, service and lots of fellowship for 3rd-9th grades (Second Floor, Education Bldg). Millie Eads leads this group.
Youth: 6th -11th grade will be doing a study by Francis Chan on Courage: Developing a Character to Stand Strong. This will be a video/discussion driven class that is very relevant to teenagers. It will talk about a lot of the temptations and challenges teenagers face by hearing testimonies of other teenagers, while Chan is relating it all back to the Word.
