The Gathering, a Senior Ministry and Outreach at Westminster United Methodist Church, in partnership with Interfaith CarePartners, offers love and support for seniors, who are in the early stages of memory loss, as well as respite for their caregivers. The Gathering program is offered once a month and varies, often featuring a festive theme to help participants identify with the current season, a special event, or holiday. The upbeat and fun activities are provided in a safe and loving atmosphere and include entertainment; singing favorite songs together; storytelling and reminiscing with friends; participating in craft projects; chair exercises; and enjoying the camaraderie of BINGO.
The Gathering at Westminster is open to our church family & our community. We meet on the second Monday of each month from 10:00am-1:30pm in our Church Parlor. A light lunch is provided and we have a volunteer nurse in attendance. The program is run by well trained volunteers, and is non-profit, with no charge to our guests.
