Westminster United Methodist Church is fortunate to have a very Christ-centered and dedicated group of men and women who are called into church ministry and are committed to building God's Kingdom in and through this church.

Senior Pastor
Rev. Jeff Powers

jpowers@wumc.com
Jeff Powers comes to us from First United Methodist Church in Teague, Texas where he served for six years.  Prior to Teague, he served churches in Lake Jackson, Baytown, and Pittsburg.  He has been in pastoral ministry for more than 14 years.  He graduated from Brite Divinity School out of TCU with his Master's of Divinity degree.  His undergraduate degree in Communications comes from The University of Houston.

Prior to his calling to the pastorate, Powers worked in the newspaper business.  He worked at The Houston Chronicle, The Huntsville Item, and The Marshall News Messenger.  He was also Publisher of The Observer Newspaper Group serving the Humble-Kingwood-New Caney area.

"I believe that the church should be an exciting, loving place where people encounter Jesus Christ, make new friends and grow as disciples"  Powers said.  "Westminster is a great setting for that to happen.  It is a very loving faith community that has a place for everyone who comes to it."

Jeff and his wife Julie have two children.  Christy is a sophomore at Texas A&M and John is a senior at San Marcos Academy.
